1. The short version
- We only ask for what we need to match you with work, or to plan work for your business.
- Only a small, authorised part of our team can see your details. Businesses only see what they need for a job you agreed to.
- We never sell your details, and we don't use them for advertising.
- You can ask us to show, correct or delete your details at any time.
2. Who is responsible
HerWorkCircle is built and run by its founder, @0xstorypreneur on X. Under Indian law, we are the "data fiduciary": we decide how your personal data is used, and we answer for it.
3. If you take the skill check
What we collect
- About you: your name, date of birth, WhatsApp number and your town or village.
- Your background: your education (degree, subject, year), your work history, your languages, and how well you read, write and speak English.
- Your setup and time: whether you have a phone or laptop, your internet, the hours you are free, and whether you could go to a work room.
- Your skill check: your answers, how long each one took, the kinds of work you chose and how you rated them, your written answers, and the work you hope to do.
- Basic device information: limited technical information about the device you use, which helps us stop fake or repeated sign-ups.
Why we use it
- To understand your skills, and match you with work and training that fit you.
- To contact you on WhatsApp about work you might want.
- To keep the skill check fair and stop fake sign-ups.
- To improve the skill check, using totals that don't show who you are.
We use your details because you agreed when you sent your skill check. You can take back that agreement at any time (see Your rights). We then stop using your details and delete them, unless the law says we must keep something.
A person on our team reviews your skill check. We may use software, including AI tools, to help sort or score written answers, but a person makes every decision about work offered to you.
On your phone
While you fill in the skill check, your answers are saved on your own phone (in its browser storage), so you can stop and come back. Clearing your browser removes them.
When you take a job
When you say yes to a job, we share with that business only what the job needs, usually your first name and the work you'll do. We don't share your phone number, date of birth or village unless you agree.
4. If you send us a business brief
We collect your name, company or brand name, company website, work email, WhatsApp number, country, and what you tell us about the work and your budget. The form prepares an email that you send to us. Until you press Send, it stays on your device. We also keep a draft in your browser so you don't lose it.
We use these details to reply, book a call, prepare a price and run the work you agree to. We may keep in touch about that work. We will only send you other news if you ask for it, and you can stop at any time.
Files and data you send us for a job are handled under our agreement with you and are seen only by the people working on it.
5. Everyone who visits
- No advertising cookies. Our pages don't set tracking or advertising cookies.
- Saved progress: your browser keeps your own progress, like a half-filled form, on your device.
- Usage information: we look at how people use our pages in general, without names or answers, so we can fix confusing parts.
- Technical information: like every website, our services receive basic technical information when you visit, which we use to keep the site running and safe.
7. How long we keep it
- Skill check profiles: we keep your profile for as long as you remain part of HerWorkCircle, so we can keep offering you work and training. There is no fixed end date. Your profile stays until you ask us to delete it or you withdraw your consent.
- When you ask us to delete: we erase your personal data within 30 days of confirming your request. We may keep only what we are required to keep by law, such as records needed for tax, accounting or a legal claim, and only for as long as that law requires.
- Business briefs and emails: for as long as we discuss or do work together, and afterwards for as long as tax, accounting and contract law require, or until you ask us to delete them where the law allows.
- Records of your requests: we keep a short record that a request was made and completed, without your personal details, so we can show we followed the law.
8. How we keep it safe
- Only a small number of authorised team members can see your details, and only when their work needs it.
- We use reasonable security measures, in line with industry practice, to protect your details from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
- We review who has access and how we protect your details on a regular basis.
- If a breach puts your details at risk, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India, as the law requires.
9. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
- Ask what we hold about you and who we shared it with.
- Correct or update anything that's wrong or out of date.
- Ask us to delete your details, and take back your agreement.
- Name someone who can use these rights for you if you die or can't act yourself.
- Complain to us (see Contact us). If you're not happy with our answer, you can go to the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these, contact us. We reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm it's you, usually by messaging from the number you gave us.
10. Age
HerWorkCircle is for adults. You must be 18 or older to take the skill check or send a brief. If we learn that someone under 18 has sent us details, we delete them.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use details you have already given us, we'll tell you first.
12. Contact us
For privacy questions, requests to see, correct or delete your details, or complaints, contact us. We reply as soon as we can, and always within 30 days.
